Celebrate the opening of the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s Summer 2026 exhibitions with an evening of contemporary art, artist conversations, and community connection. Explore five compelling exhibitions examining themes of perception, materiality, identity, and imagined futures.

The evening includes a special Artist Talk featuring exhibiting artists from 6:30–7:30 PM, followed by the awards presentation for Futurology, DFAC’s juried summer exhibition guest judged by John Byrd.

Featured Exhibitions

underseers: Jason Lazarus
Through sculpture, concrete photography, and object-based archives, Jason Lazarus challenges traditional ways of seeing and documenting everyday life, encouraging viewers to engage perception in more intimate and reflective ways.

Materiality: Jim Gigurtsis and Mike Cannata
This exhibition brings together Gigurtsis’ expressive oil paintings and Cannata’s dynamic ceramic works, emphasizing texture, emotion, and the physical presence of materials while moving between abstraction and representation.

Futurology
Guest judged by John Byrd, Futurology features artists envisioning possible futures—utopian, dystopian, and everything in between. Awards will be presented during the reception.

Out of Many, Still Many
Created in recognition of America’s Semiquincentennial, this exhibition showcases regional figurative painters celebrating the diversity of cultures, identities, and everyday experiences that shape American life.

Pressing On: Printmaking at DFAC
Highlighting the energy of DFAC’s printmaking community, this exhibition features works by students, faculty, alumni, and instructors exploring innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship in print media.

All exhibitions remain on view through August 16, 2026, with Pressing On: Printmaking at DFAC continuing through August 23.

Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the start of DFAC’s summer exhibition season.
