About Us

The Dunedin History Museum is a vibrant cultural hub dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the rich history of Dunedin and its people. Located in the heart of downtown, the museum welcomes residents and visitors alike to explore engaging exhibits, educational programs, and community-driven events that bring the past to life.

Founded in 1970, the museum highlights Dunedin’s unique heritage—from its citrus roots and railroad expansion to the individuals and stories that helped shape the community. Through thoughtfully curated exhibits, interactive displays, and special programming, we aim to create meaningful connections between history and everyday life.

In addition to our exhibits, we offer a dynamic calendar of events throughout the year, including guided historic walking tours, our “History Comes Alive” series, guest speaker programs, and seasonal celebrations. Our partnership with Andrews Memorial Chapel expands our offerings to include concerts, private events, and cultural experiences in one of Dunedin’s most cherished historic spaces.

As a nonprofit organization, the museum is committed to education, preservation, and community engagement. We proudly collaborate with local businesses, schools, and organizations to ensure Dunedin’s history remains accessible, relevant, and inspiring for future generations.
